For larger groups, activities can be combined so that some participants do one activity while others do another.
Dreamcatcher Making
Dreamcatcher Making Workshop – Come create something magical yourself
Dreamcatchers come from the culture of the Indigenous peoples of North America, especially Native Americans, where they were used to ward off bad dreams and catch good ones. However, ancient Estonians had similar beliefs – our folklore also includes magical protective items hung near sleeping areas to guard the dreamer. That is why dreamcatchers feel so natural and close to our hearts – they combine wisdom from different cultures and bring peace to the mind.
During the workshop, each participant creates their own personal dreamcatcher using natural and inspiring materials available on site – feathers, strings, beads, wood, and more. An experienced instructor explains why certain materials and shapes are preferred, their symbolic meanings, and how they help imbue the item with personal significance and energy. Beyond practical crafting skills, participants gain insight into how an object can carry beliefs, protection, and intentions.
The process is not complicated and is suitable for all ages – with the instructor’s help, everyone can succeed. With small tips and creativity, something personal and unique is created. Each participant can make a dreamcatcher that speaks to them personally or create something together with a loved one, for example, as a gift or a memory of shared moments.
All finished dreamcatchers naturally belong to the participants – so that this magical item can continue to bring peace, protection, and good dreams at home.
