Grandma’s Kitchen? – homemade food, genuine farm cuisine, and traditions

If Elamustalu feels like a country home at a super active grandfather’s place, then catering at Kallaste Farm is like visiting a grandmother who used to be a top chef and a food enthusiast. Here, food is made with love, passion, and truly great taste. At our place, food and a rich selection are held in high regard. Good ingredients are the foundation of good food — everyone who takes food seriously knows this.

Catering at Kallaste Turismitalu

At Kallaste Farm’s kitchen, things don’t run like a conveyor belt. Here, a person works for whom every soup pot and pie is like a gift to the guest. Whenever possible, we use produce from our farm and local ingredients. The wood stove crackles, the aromas fill the house, and dishes are prepared with their own character and soul.

How does catering work with us?

Our catering is done by advance order and according to a group menu. All dishes are made on site from fresh ingredients, always with the thought that the diner should feel cared for – just like grandma would want.

Would you like to join in the cooking yourself?

A combined option is also possible, where part of the food comes from our farm kitchen and part you prepare yourselves. For example: salads, snack platters, and grilled vegetables are made by us, but the meat and sausages go on your own grill. This way, the farm food keeps its homemade touch, and you also get to enjoy the fun of cooking together!

Important aspects of catering:

Sourcing good ingredients takes time, so please place your catering order at least 8 days before the event. The final number of guests should be confirmed no later than 4 days before the catering date.

Food is served either plated or buffet-style, depending on the nature of the event and your preferences. If you know your group has big appetites, please let us know — some dishes, like meat rolls or baked fish, can be prepared in larger quantities or double portions.

Regarding cold buffet specifics: cold buffet dishes are always prepared fresh on-site. To ensure everything is ready on time, we start preparations in the afternoon and can serve the buffet from 4:00 PM. Our kitchen closes at 8:00 PM, so we cannot serve the cold buffet later than that. If you want food for later, we can prepare the cold buffet or sauna snacks and store them in the fridge for you to take out at your convenience. Cold buffet and sauna snacks are ordered per person, not by platters.

Living food and real bread – just like a farm should offer

At our farm, food is more than just filling your belly – it’s art, love, and tradition. Like our ancestors, we cherish fermented vegetables and sourdough bread, both made with time and care. And what’s the most precious ingredient of all? Time, of course. A healthy gut is the key to a longer, healthier life.

We promote the principles of longevity – a lifestyle that supports natural and healthy long living. When catering, we always follow your preferences and never force our philosophy on anyone – but if you’re curious, don’t hesitate to ask!

We are not a restaurant!

We offer catering by pre-order only!
