Thinking Sauna Heino – a place where the best thoughts arise

Thinking Sauna Heino is located in a beautiful natural setting on a high bank of the Kloostri River in the Thinking house – away from the city noise, in the midst of peace and quiet. Its name is no coincidence: this is the place where thoughts can wander, clear up, and grow into something meaningful. And what better helps this than rich steam and a good vibes?

For Estonians, the sauna has always been more than just a place to wash – it is a place where life matters are discussed, agreements are made, silence is shared, or heartfelt conversations take place.

The house has a large steam room, a spacious anteroom relaxation area, and a terrace where you can unwind after enjoying the heat. The sauna is located high on the Kloostri River bank, but you can easily refresh yourself in the river by using the convenient stairs.

Thinking Sauna Heino suits all types of experiences:

    • For those seeking silence and focus – when you need space and peace for your thoughts
    • For the enthusiast – if you enjoy active sauna traditions
    • For chatting with friends – if you value a warm atmosphere and pleasant evenings of conversation

    Must be booked in advance!

Since our sauna and hot tub are wood-fired, filling them with water and heating takes several hours, so it is necessary to book the sauna visit in advance. The steam sauna also requires the technician to turn on the water. If you suddenly wish to use the sauna in a couple of hours, please call the hostess — she will assist you!

Wood-fired sauna – an authentic experience

The heart of Heino sauna is a spacious wood-fired Finnish sauna, characterized by natural steam and a genuine atmosphere. The window offers a view of primeval forest and woodland.

    • The bench can accommodate over 10 people at once – perfect for groups.
    • For a true experience, throw on some steam and whisk yourself if you like.
    • Wood-fired stove – add more wood if it starts to cool!
    • The sauna needs about 2 hours of heating.

Steam Room – a gentler and more relaxing alternative

In addition to the Finnish sauna, Heino Thinking House also has a smaller steam room, ideal for those who prefer lower temperatures:

    • Accommodates up to 4 people at once
    • Covered with natural stone slabs that retain pleasant warmth
    • Lower temperature makes it suitable for sensitive skin or respiratory systems

Please always inform us in advance if you wish to use the steam room so our technician can turn on the water and start the steam room.

Also take: hot water soaking tub

The hot water soaking tub next to Thinking house (Mõttemaja) Sauna Heino is an ideal place to relax and a perfect companion to the thinking sauna – located high on the bank of the Kloostri River, surrounded by nature. Warm water, fresh air, and a calm atmosphere create a moment where you just feel good.

The water is heated hot for you, and later you can add wood yourself if you want to keep the warmth or increase the heat. Filling and heating the tub takes 2–3 hours.

The tub is perfect both for romantic moments for two and for sharing with a group. Together with Heino’s spacious sauna house, it creates a perfect relaxation spot in nature. For larger groups, the soaking tub is an ideal addition to the sauna, as many more people can stay warm at the same time.

Natural water in the hot water soaking tub!

We use natural water that contains no chlorine or other chemicals – it is gentle on the skin and an eco-friendly choice. Sometimes, when we use river water, the water may be dark like the river itself, so it may stain swimwear.

Thinking house Sauna Heino combines spaciousness, traditional sauna atmosphere, and versatile relaxation options. It is the ideal choice if you want to relax in nature and share the sauna experience with friends or family.

    Heino

Heino is a true sauna man. He hasn’t lost his sense of humor over the years, and it’s always fun to be around him. With his slightly graying hair and life-experienced comments, he is so incredibly charming that sometimes he has to keep slender blondes away with the fresh smell of garlic and onions. There’s nothing to be done – it just is that way. Heino knows how to enjoy life.

Heino’s favorite fruits are pears. Every autumn, he eagerly awaits their ripening so he can enjoy them in a delicious pie with summer honey. Caramelized pears, pears with ice cream, pear and cheese pie – Heino can never get enough of pears. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like pears floating in compote at all. No, no! Heino thinks those pears are too soft – soft food. No, he’s not that old yet to eat such “nonsense.” Well, who knows… Eating pears is just a strange habit.

Heino enjoys sauna bathing all year round. He likes it when friends come to visit so they can exchange impressions. Heino loves to refresh himself with cold water and always recommends it to his friends—if only they would listen…

Authentic wood-fired sauna on the bank of the Kloostri River – hot steam, steam sauna, and hot tub create the perfect place to relax in the heart of nature.
